DVD Decrypter 3.5 is a freeware program designed to create backup images for DVDs of the DVD-Video structure. It can be used to create images of any DVD, but it is especially useful for decoding copy-protected DVD films for a determined region and converting it to an all-region DVD; this means that the program removes all region code restrictions and user operation prohibitions.
The basic idea of DVD Decrypter is to decode film DVDs and copy images to other DVDs or Hard Disk Drives, allowing the users to watch the film directly on their PCs, with any movie player like PowerDVD or WinDVD, or burn a new copy of the DVD without restrictions.
A great feature of DVD Decrypter 3.5 is that once you place the DVD on the DVD tray, the program recognizes automatically what it takes to decrypt the DVD (CSS, region codes and operation prohibitions), so users don’t have to bother setting it up, or even know the restrictions the DVD has.
This program can also re-encode the DVD images to MPEG1 (VCD) or DivX, allowing users to burn the films to CDs as a single file, but reducing the image and sound quality of the original film. Being a single file, these images lose the ability of language and special features settings, although the resulting CDs can be played by virtually any CD/DVD player.
